I haven't used smcFanControl much with my Mac Pro 1,1 over the past few years, but recently I've been getting artifacts on my screen, which go away when I overclock the fans and cool down the computer. I know that's not a permanent solution, and I'm getting a new computer by the end of this year anyway.. but I just figured I'd inquire about how safe it is the overclock the fans like this.

Currently I have the CPU, the PCIe/HDD and the Rear fans going at about 2000rpm. My machine has gone from 49C to 35C in about five minutes. Can the fans go at 2000rpm for sustained periods of time? Can they go faster?
