I have used smcfancontrol for ages without issue. When I recently upgraded too Mavericks it doesn't seem to want to control the fan speed. When I start the app up it goes to max rpm. I used to have a couple profiles for when I do different things. Now the sliders do not work at all.
This is a MacBookPro 2012 i7 with Discrete Nvidia 650M. I also recently installed a SSD drive. Though, believe the issue was there prior to the drive, I think.
I have reset the SMC as well as reinstalled the app.
I know the MAC can control the fans on its own, but I like to keep the temps a little lower than Apple tolerates.
SMCFanControl works fine on the wife's MBA with Mavericks as well. Both were clean installs of Mavericks as well.
Any ideas?
