Smoking Apple 24 Cinema Display

Are these displays notorious for going up in smoke? I've never heard of this before, but was looking to get one eventually and then I stumbled across this video -

I've owned mine for years (knocks on wood) and no problems.

Have had a 24" ACD since 2010. No problems at all. Same for our 27".
