smoothcam not showing up in FCP6

Are FxPlugs dependent on VRAM???
I thought the "FXPlug" effects were dependent on VRAM. I remember a friend not being able use certain FCP 5.1 effects that Motion (FCS I) added due to his G5 not having enough VRAM, but they were fine on my MacPro. I think they required 256 and he had only 128 on our stock video cards. My Smothcam filter does say FxPlug next to it, which I believe means it's a bundle (FCS) plug-in shared with Motion.
Don't know if things have changed much in FCS I with these.
