I've experienced the same thing. Load up the SMS app and hold down the home button until it goes to the home screen. This seems to fix the lagg for a little bit.

Yeah i agree it's an issue with the firmware. But c'mon, you telling me that Apple didn't notice this in testing? I mean, we've had the phones for a week and reports like this are all over the web.

Remember how many people were disappointed after Mac conference that 2.0 would not be released for almost 2 months? I am sure most people are willing to put up with the issues to get the phone ASAP, and Apple understands that.

This has been discussed many times. Try Restoring to the slightly newer 5A347 build of firmware 2.0. Some have said this has fixed the typing lag issue. It did for me but your mileage may vary.

That's not what that firmware is. 5A345 is the 2.0 firmware for the first generation iPhone, 5A347 is the 2.0 firmware for the second generation iPhone.

Not true, my 1st gen is running 5A347 :) The difference between 1st and 2nd gen firmware is 1,1 and 1,2 near the start of the filename iirc.

Have had the same problem at times

It will take from 15-30 seconds some times for me to go through my contacts because of the darn lag

Other times it doesnt exist but it came back today and really bugged me
