SMS Contact Issue

Hey, I'm having an issue with my iPhone4s sms contact adding. You know how when you compose a text to a new contact the phone will give you an option of contacts based on the first few letters? For some reason, my phone won't do that anymore. Any one know what's up?

Im having the same issue. the same thing happens when dialing a phone number, and the phone number is saved in my contact list

could anyone help us!!

P.S.
this is not a new issue, I experienced it on iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4
