SMS feature redirects me to the Home Screen iPhone 3G

Hey there,

each time I try clicking on the SMS feature on the iPhone, it redirects me to the home page after a little while, it doesn't load the text messages for me :(

I've like 12 pending messages which I need to get at, is there a solution for this?

I have an iPhone 3G (with 3.0.1 firmware),

please help me out,
