More than once people have described the wish for the iPhone to display a characters remaining number for SMS. My question is:

What does the iPhone do once you reach the 1 SMS character limit?

So it only tells you when you've sent more than 1 message when you send them?

nope, it doesn't indicate anything - all long text messages i've sent look like a single text to me, and then show up on the phones of my friends as 2 or 3 separate messages...

Wow that does suck, I take it works in the same way in reverse? e.g.
3 messages sent from a non-iPhone appear as 1 Long one on an iPhone

Thanks for the rapid reply people.
That has cleared it up for me.
It seems a bit odd that the best cell phone on the market doesn't have this feature along awith a few others tht I'm not so bothered about.

I mean, I do have 1500 txts so I really don't care that much...... it sucks for the people on the other end though when I send them long texts lol.

but yeah, my old phone (the sidekick 3/lx) had a Remaining Characters count on it. It was pretty nice.
