SMS substiture App?

HI. Currently a Blackberry user but will be getting an iPhone in the coming weeks. Just waiting for launch from my provider.

I wanted to know if there is an application that will allow me to use DATA plan instead of dependent on a SMS plan.

When I switch to iPhone I wll be getting data but eliminating my sms package. I want to know if there is an application that will SMS my contacts on my phone, some of these users will be regular cell phones. Is there an application that will allow me to send and receive sms messages via data instead? Something that is reliable and seamless.

Textfree, it won't allow you to use your real phone number, but it will give one of your own, so you'll have to have your friends text your "texting" number.
