SMS Texting & Making Phone Calls From Old iPhone

i cant seem to make calls or send text using my old iPhone (through my current iPhone through wi-fi, like you you can do it with an iPad or MacBook)


but i can receive calls and texts, but i cant make them like i can on my iPad or MacBook.


is it just like that? it seems like phone calling doesnt function at all if you dont have a simcard.

Handoff doesn't work with iPhone without a simcard through another iPhone.
