SMTP for Cox will not connect..how do I change?

Hey --

I'm setting up Mail for the first time. Everything works, except when I get to the smtp part, Mail can't connect. I see others have had this problem, and they have said the solution is to change the port. Problem is, the preferences in Mail are greyed out as no accounts are actually able to be set-up because it can't get past the initial config.

Can anyone help me with this?
