smtp.mac.com password change - how?

I am getting prompts that smtp.mac.com rejected my password but regrettably after entering it still comes back. So how do I change the smtp.mac password? I checked in my Keychain to check my password was correct first but now I'm baffled! I am running Lion OSX 10.7.5.
