There's been a smudge appearing on my screen for the last month or so, always in the same place, and it's easily removed using a cloth. My guess is the screen is rubbing on the keyboard, which I have cleaned the keyboard multiple times, and nothing. I perform a thorough cleaning with iKlear wipes. I'm thinking it may get worse in the future and potentially scratch the screen permanently. I'm curious if this small issue would warrant taking it to the Apple store to get checked out?

In the attached picture I'm merely attempting to point out the physical location of the smudge for reference.

Side note: Yes, I have a webcam cover, however the smudges were prevalent before I had the cover so I can say with certainty the cover has nothing to do with it.

I get a bit of a grid-like imprint on mine from the keys sometimes. I noticed it seems to happen when I carry it in a sleeve and put slight pressure on it between my arm and body I suppose. It always wipes away easily though so not something I worry about.

Do you use a backpack?
If so, how much pressure is exerted on the [closed] MacBook when it's IN the backpack?
