Hi All

I was just taking some photos of items for work when I noticed on a white wall that there was a weird smudge on my camera. The smudge is not on the screen for any other app.

I tried wiping the camera lens, but I have the same problem. I restarted the phone as well, same issue.

Does anyone know what this is and a possible remedy? I was starting to think I had a good phone as there were no scratches or other issues people have been having.

Thanks in advance, some sample photos are attached.

Legitimate issue, which you have there. Have Apple take a look at it. However, be prepared for a possible exchange, if that is a concern.

It is. I paid for an unlock plus installed a full bodyguardz film.

I just purchased a glass screen protector, thankfully I got too tired to install it last night!

I guess I need to head to the genius bar today. It is a bit ridiculous for this to happen to a phone that is only 2 weeks old.

You might want to backup your iPhone before you go to Apple, in case you get an exchange. That way, you'll be able to clone yourself ASAP. :)

i had this exact same issue. got my phone replaced cause they didn't have any camera replacement parts.

the unlock will transfer over to your new phone. not sure about the protector ;)

Protector isnt a big deal, as BG supplies 2.

So when I sync with itunes, the unlock will still be available? Do I need to restore, or will everything be automatic?

thanks

I can't speak to the unlock issue, but you can restore everything else (including your Settings) from your most recent backup. That's why I suggested it. :)

That's how I always set up new iPhones when I get them.

Thank you, but settings is not a concern. I have a backup at home which I can restore to.

Any screen protector/skin/etc. will be bye bye when you swap out phones. I don't like Apples attitude about it either. They should offer to replace at least the screen protector.

Pop in another carrier's sim and check! ;)

It's a no go. I had looked up a website that is an IMEI checker and it shows locked.

I contacted Unlock Fusion, they will get me a new unlock code in a few hours. Its another $10, but well worth it considering I am traveling out of the country in 2 months.

Yeah. for $10... no need to make a bid deal out of it.
