Snow Leopard and batteries

Can't find it - but I'm sure I read that SL is supposed to be a lot better for battery life on laptops. Can anyone confirm?

I had SL on my Macbook Air, and the battery was about the same. I guess I'm not sure what else Apple can do software wise to improve battery life, and I wouldn't go as far as to say any software change would make the battery a lot better.

Many apps use less RAM, but unless the actual programming has a massive increase in efficiency, it's not going to make a very noticeable difference in battery life.
