I have a first gen MacBook with an Intel Core 2 @ 1.83 Ghz with 2gigs of ram. The Core 2 chip is not 64 bit. I was concerned that, even though Apple stated that all Intel machines were supported, the Core 2 chip would be so old that it wouldn't work well. I also thought that being a 32 bit chip would a make difference.
While I haven't run any tests yet, Snow Leopard on my machine runs incredibly fast! It also freed up over 15 gigs of space. That is amazing to me. $29 dollars has been the best money I have ever spent on my computer.
