I upgraded to Snow Leopard last night. This morning I tried to run Time Machine and I keep getting an error saying the backup disk is not available. I'm using a 1TB external hard drive. It's been formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Has anyone had issues with Time Machine since upgrading to Snow Leopard? I'm at a loss as to what the problem is.

Is the volume mounted properly? Did you check the logs and Disk Utility?

I mounted and remounted the hard drive, repaired it, and verified it and I guess that worked because Time Machine is backing up now.

Issues with Time Machine and Snow Leopard

I have a new 24" imac, I am running into similar issues with Time Machine backing up to a USB external 640 GB drive. I had to use the disk utility twice on the drive. The first time I received an error and the second time another error that the drive was set to read only and to run the disk utility again. I had no problems with Time Machine until I installed Snow Leopard.
