Snow Leopard App issues - iPhoto / Quicktime

Hi all,

Been having a few niggles since moving to SL (clean install)

- iPhoto shows a black screen when I try to edit most photos, same photos open fine with Elements or on another Mac running iPhoto

- Quicktime shows a blank white or sometimes black screen when playing media. Again, same media plays fine in VLC or on another Mac running quicktime. Same for Quicktime X and 7.6.2 here.

Any ideas people? Apart from these 2 things (and an occasionally blank calculator) SL has been pretty solid.
