Snow Leopard ate my Spotlight!

So, since I installed Snow Leopard, I have no Spotlight. It's just gone. The System Preference Pane is there, but there is no menu item and there's no response to the keyboard shortcuts.

Any help?

Solved.

I did a simple reinstall of Snow Leopard, now Spotlight is back.
