Snow Leopard: Dashboard Doesn't "Fly" In, Just Appears

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, my dashboard widgets don't "fly in" anymore. The screen fades dim and then the widgets just appear in their place.

Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? I thought maybe the 10.6.1 upgrade would fix it, but it didn't.

Hmmm.

Any ideas why it might not be working for me? It's obviously not a huge issue I guess, but I appreciate the little animations and effects.
