Snow Leopard disc scratched up: borrow from friend?

So, my hard drive crashed and I need to reinstall snow leopard on my 2008 15" MBP. Only problem is that my snow leopard disc is all scratched up and the disc that came with my MBP is leopard. I have a friend who recently bought a MBP 13". Would it work if I borrowed his install discs, or would my Mac reject it or otherwise not workV

This won't work unless they have the retail version of Snow Leopard. Install disks are specific to the particular machine.

Call Apple, they will generally send out replacement disks for a minimal price.
