Everything seems to be working great except my videos all play with a purple tint.

I've tried repairing permissions, zapping PRAM, creating a new user and seeing if it helps but the problem persists. I've also tried different video players and they all have the same problem.

What's weird is that when I take a screen shot from the video player (VLC), the color is fine but when I take a screen shot of the entire desktop, it shows the purple color.

Can anyone help me out? Please?

Are you running the latest version? Just tested mines and it seems fine.

I'm running build 10A380. I'm not sure if this build can be upgraded?

That version is upgradable via software update. Just keep running it until you're at version 10A411, which is currently the latest version.

You guys think it's the build version that's causing this problem? My computer can't connect to the internet (wireless only at home) so I'm not sure exactly how to go about updating?

Check Software Update. Latest build is 10A411 as of now.

I guess I wasn't clear... my Mac Pro doesn't have an internet connection so I can't really update unless I lug it to a neighbors place for an ethernet connection. If there's something else that can be done to fix the problem, I'd rather try that than move the computer...heh

Do you have internet access from another computer?

You can do a google search and get the direct download links for

10a402 and then
10a411

I'm pretty sure you have to apply both.

The 10a402 download was a little more than 1.3GB
The 10a411 download was around 650+MB

I'm surprised you haven't had more issues with 10a380, as it was unstable.

By far the easiest thing to do is use software update using an internet connection though...

I know it's not related, but how big is that blu-ray file you downloaded? (Live Free or Die Hard) :D

Seems like awesome quality, must be over 5 gigs, better than the average 700mb rips :p

EDIT: WOAH make that a whopping 11GB

Thanks for the info pilot and Frey, I'll do my search this weekend and hopefully it'll solve the problem.

Cristobal--It's 11.59GB :p Once you download movies in 720p/1080p you'll never go back to the 700MB axxo rips. Having a ridiculously fast internet connection helps too!

edit-

I found the 10A402 build and under torrent info it says "Upgrade for users using Snow Leopard with build 10A394 or later." Is this true/false? Oh well I'm going to give it a try anyway...

I was going to reply that you may need 10a394 first!

There's been 3 major releases in the last couple of weeks. Looks like Apple is stepping up the pace.

Okay I thought I should update this in case anyone else has a similar problem out there.

I updated to 10A394 yesterday and it didn't fix the issue. I googled the problem some more and found that this problem has been addressed here. I just downloaded 10A402 and it seems like the problem's been addressed! I guess we can either apply the patch or just update.
