Hey all,

Problem:
Backing up multiple folders with lots of data (media) from one external HDD to another. I walk away, as it will take hours (we're talking 800gb). Invariably, at some point a file is corrupt, or something, and OSX stops, and tells me that "File X could not be read/written" and waits for me to return to click, "ok" so that I can start all over again, deselect that one file and hope no more are corrupt.

Desired Solution:
Transfer everything and skip unreadable files, giving me a log at the end telling me which files were bad.

Is this possible in OSX natively? If not, is there a program, or maybe applescript that would help me?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try CarbonCopyCloner, which allows you to select the folders you want to copy and puts them in the same location on the target HDD as they are on the source HDD, and a file transfer will not be stopped due to an error, the error will be reported afterwards.
