Just to be absolutely sure: the Snow Leopard installer does
not install any Mac Pro firmware updates?

I know that sounds incredibly unlikely. But Apple have issued
firmware updates as ordinary software updates before.

I am not aware of any change on my two machines. I would be glad to receive an update on the MP1,1 if Apple did one. But I expect to see hell freeze over before Apple invests one developer hour into hardware they do not sell any more.

Snow Leopard did not install a Firmware upgrade on my Aluminium 2.26 GHz MacBook Pro. BUT it "canceled" that i had excluded a Firmware upgrade (some SATA 3GB patch). After i installed SL i let Software upgrade run for fun, looked at the details and it wanted to install the Firmware upgrade i had excluded some time ago.

Thanks.

I guess that's realistic.

Eek. I wish Apple wouldn't do that with irreversible firmware updates.

At the very least, there should be a strongly worded warning with a
couple of dialogs to click through before installation. Better than that
would be a separate firmware update stream.
