Snow Leopard install question...

i know you guys must be sick of replying to this question but pls let me know which is the best way to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard...

Do the erase and install, that is boot up from the SL dvd and from utilities do a erase and install.

The second one is to create a partition and install SL and then boot up into SL partition and erase the leopard partition so now you have a freshly installed SL.

please let me know which is the best way to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard thanks.
