hi I am installing leopard (clean install, not upgrade) using dmg to external usb drive method here, using this guide

during power on, i hold option key then select the usb drive boot partition. apple logo shows up then hangs with this screen shot.

any ideas? I'm using original intel core duo 2.0 mbp. thanks:confused:

btw, i'm using a 60gb external usb drive for the dmg restore.

Yea, I'm thinking it may not like that Hard Drive. Try the Disc.

Try booting from your Snow Leopard CD by holding down "C" at the boot.

The circle with cross usually shows signs of a boot failure.

mark, I'm installing using dmg image via external usb drive. no dvd

Sorry if I'm not a help but when try opening the cd in leopard and then run the installation then click restart when it tells you too then I think you can just select the drive from there

ok, fixed by restoring the dmg to a different hard drive. it's now installing. 18 mins to go.
