I have a 2009 uMB and 2009 Mini but I have been thinking about buying the SL family pack and upgrading both systems, is there truly a reason to upgrade, does anyone have the same systems I do and do you really get any benefits other then shrinking down how much space the OS uses?

to actually answer your question,
YES.
Snow Leopard has tons of new features, like a new quicktime, screen recording, much smoother performance thanks to the loss of PPC support, and it frees up a good amount of hard drive space.

QuickTime X alone is worth the $30, so it's a fantastic deal for mac users with intel processors.

YES for the price it is worth it.

I upgraded a laptop like yours and and older MB with no problems at all. It is a little faster, takes up much less space (got 11gb back on one of them [and thats not from the new byte counting system in place])

Just make sure that you choose "custom install" and select Rosseta if you use any old PPC apps and select Quicktime 7 if you had and used the PRO version of that app on your computer already.
