Quite a bit of frustration here.

I first put a Snow Leopard disc to install on my mid-2007 white MacBook today. The disc was mounted, although when I clicked on the "Optional" folder in the disc, the 3 items inside the folder didn't load up. However, after I clicked on the "Install Snow Leopard" the second time (the first time didn't work), I proceeded to start installing, and the progress bar said it'd take 2 hr 45 mins. So I went for lunch.

Came back for lunch an hour later, the computer was in standby mode and after typing in my password to wake it, there's a dialogue window popped up which said "Cannot read disc, clean it carefully and try again."

Ever since then, my optical drive cannot detect / mount any sort of discs / CD at all. I've tried disc which only contained .pdf files, or standard audio CD. Not to mention, the Snow Leopard install disc has never been detected again as well.

Anyone can shed some light on what had happened? Much appreciated!!!
