Hi,
today when i turned on the macbook pro i accidentally pressed guest instead of my user account.
Little did I know that this would happen.
About 1 minute later, the guest account hadnt logged in, and i was returned to the login screen, where I happily pressed my user account and typed in my password.

Then, It logged in as usual, but I was greeted with a horrible surprise - All my files had gone.

The desktop was empty, the dock returned to its default state, and all my files gone - Documents,Downloads,Pictures etc.

I searched on the net to find out a few others have had this problem, and discussions are on the apple website with no solution.

Here is a link to one website detailing it : http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10346974-263.html

It is awful, as I hadnt backed up since august 11th. Lost loads of work, and can not see any signs of getting it back.

Havent rang apple yet because I want to see if it can be fixed to avoid telling parents whats happened.

All due to pressing 1 button by mistake.
If I did ring apple, would I be likely to gain anything from it, or would they say they didnt no what it was and they would look into it.....

also posted this to warn others.
Please help if you can
