Snow Leopard Mail - spinning gear but not downloading...

So SN Mail has been driving me mad for days now. It won't send from MobileMe, and won't receive for Gmail! I've no idea what to do, short of a reinstall (SN has hosed all of my computers - each in a different way, so maybe it's a good idea to downgrade... ).

However, I'd rather not wipe my drive, and am hoping there's some plist I can delete or something that'll make it all better.

Ideas?

Have you checked the incoming and outgoing server settings for MobileMe and Gmail? MobileMe server settings: mail.me.com, port 993, using SSL and authentication password; smtp.me.com, default ports, using SSL authentication password. Gmail settings are found @ here for POP and here for IMAP.

All my server settings are correct, just reentered it all just in case...
