Snow Leopard Menu Bar Locking UP

I have a quick question. I have and iMAC 24, 2.6GHZ Intel with 4GB Ram. I have been having a problem lately with my menu bar freezing sometimes. It happens only when I "right click" on the menu bar item. I have a bluetooth Targus Mouse. I was curious if anyone else has experienced any of the same types of problems? It eventually unlocks but it takes up to a minute or 2 sometimes. The strange thing is that I am still able to click on any open programs or browser windows that are open. I just can't interact with the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
