OK, strange problem here. I believe this is happening on both my laptop and the iMac I use at work. Previously, dialog boxes that had a default option (most do) will highlight that option in pulsing blue. In Snow Leopard, all of the buttons are just white, and the fonts seem off. I had done some modding before in Leopard, but I did a complete Erase and Install of Snow Leopard and the problem persists, so I can't imagine that is the cause. Some dialog boxes are correct (such as the password prompts), but others are not. I've attached an example of one that does not look correct here. The cancel button in this image should be pulsing blue, but instead it looks identical to the other (leaving me with no visual cue as to which one will be triggered if I simply press Enter on the keyboard).
