Does anyone know what will happen to all my backups on my Time capsule when I upgrade to Snow Leopard?

I had a search around but could not seem to find an answe, but sorry if this has already been asked.

As far as I can tell Time Machine just keeps backing up as usual after a lep to SL upgrade and I ssume when space becomes short it will overwrite the old lep backups at some point.

But will it work correctly if I wanted to bring a data file or Mail message (from Leo) back to the present (SL)?
