I want to downgrade for any reasons, but I'm worried that I won't be able to get all my apps back (I realize I'll probably have to redownload the leopard versions). Anyway, I only have time machine backups from snow leopard, are they compatible with leopard (ie I use the snow leopard time machine backup to restore my personal files in leopard)?

I have a bootable dmg image if anything goes wrong, but I don't want to waste time if I do something badly.

If there is space on your time machine hard drive I would recommend dragging your home folder over to it separately. You can then drag it back.

Be aware that if you get your email via pop rather than imap, you will lose old emails, this is because snow changes the mail.app database and it is incompatible with the leopard mail.app.

will that keep all my preferences and whatnot? Will it cause any problems with apps not working correctly?
