I have a late 2008 (I think) white Macbook. Has anyone with a similar machine made the jump from Snow Leopard to Mavericks? Any issues? Is it worth doing?

I have a late-2009 White Macbook upgraded with 8GB ram and a 250GB ssd. The upgrade was straightforward... downloaded and installed from the AppStore. If it's worth upgrading, it depends if you need the new features and some battery improvement (I guess 10%). Take care if you need apps compatible with Snow Leopard. I have a license of Crossover Mac 10.x and it doesn't work with Mavericks. Also, if you use MacPorts you'll probably need reinstalling and recompiling your apps.
