I just got off the phone with Apple Care, and i was told that the $10 Up-To-Date package does not contain a full Snow Leopard install.
If i was to format my Hdd, i would need to install Leopard first and then proceed to upgrade to SL.

He did say that the $29 package of SL does contain the full install.

Can anyone confirm this?

If that's the case. I hope they didn't waste paper and put it in a fancy box.

Does anyone have the item number for the UTD disk?

I'm just wondering because Apple is sending me a free copy of Snow Kitty, and want to check if they sent me a UTD disk or the retail update.

Yes, id like to know if the UTD is a cd in a plastic sleeve or it comes sealed in the retail packaging?

Mine says MC204Z/A as well...

I also called local apple store and the girl told me that the UTD Disc includes full SL. Confused!

That's not true. The UTD program is a program... not a disk version! The disk you receive WILL include a full disk of 10.6 Snow Leopard OS X! It will have the exact same contents as the retail disk!

NO ISSUES HERE...

And did the UTD come as a stand alone disk or a full sealed retail package? ... im amazed this answer is sooo hard to come by.... ive scanned the forums for the last hour...

Yeah unfortunately i guess we will have to wait and see...
it would be unfortunate to have to format / reinstall down the road only to find out i either have to purchase a full version of SL.... or first Install Leopard and then upgrade to SL...
