Greetings,
My office server and our several clients have been running leopard for a while now. We use a convention with word files such that when they are incomplete the first character in the filename is an @ symbol. Up until now, finding files that needed to be completed meant opening up the directory in finder and searching for "@" in spotlight. As we added new client macbook pros with snow leopard we found that our ability to find files on the server using spotlight became sketchy. We needed to specify added preferences (file name, sever vs the individual mac), then repeat the process 2x in order for it to actually begin the search. This weekend we upgraded the server to snow leopard, and that critical bit of functionality went away. Now we find that from any client such a search consistently returns zero results despite easily being able to see the files with the @ in the name sitting in their individual folders. The problem seems to be network specific, in that a similar search on the server itself returns the appropriate results.
Any ideas?
Thanks
