Snow Leopard Upload Issues (images inparticular)

Hello,
I'm having some major problems uploading photos from my mac at the moment, whenever I try I find that the images are only partly uploaded which means sections of each photo are missing or discoloured...I've tried using the facebook and picasa exporters in iphoto, java and simple file uploaders in safari and firefox and I've tried using picasa for mac but the same happens.

Anyone know how I fix this? It's incredibly frustrating.
