I clicked show package contents on an application and when I went to edit it, I didn't have permission. Normally I would go to get info, press the lock under sharing and permissions, enter my password, and change them all from Read to Read & Write. However, now after I enter my password, it still won't let me change the permissions. How do I fix this?

Where is the app located? If it's still in a .dmg file that you downloaded, drag it to your desktop, then edit it.
