Snow Lep, iMovie HD....any issues?

Here's the deal..... I have Tiger and I'm considerding Snow Lep. I still have the old iLife that has iMovie HD....I never upgraded to 08. With a Snow Lep conversion I'll grab the box set with iWork and iLife09. That seems to be the most economical route, but I have a couple questions:

Will I be able to retain my iMovie HD when I do the upgrades? Any special procedure I should be aware of in the upgrade process (this is my first experience with an OS upgrade on Mac)?? I hear iMovie 09 is pretty decent, but still lacks plug-in capabilities and a couple other smaller things I enjoy with iMovie HD. If I can retain iMovie HD, will it function the same in the Snow Lep world and with the 09 version of iDVD??

I have opened iMovie HD in Snow Leopard and all seems well.

As far as keeping hold of it through the install process . . . Simply copy the actual Application (The Icon) onto a USB Drive or External HD and then copy it back to your computer once SnowLeopard is installed.

Apple's iLife Apps are each self contained within the Application icon. All you need to copy is the app and when you next click on it. . . voila!
