OS X. Snow Lep. Want it.

Will it be as easy as buying it, popping it in and ta-da? Will my macbook be capatable to do just this?

All you have to do is put the disk in, agree to the set up and wait. It takes a little bit of time but after your computer will have all the same settings and files and programs still on it, but i suggest doing a back up just incase. if you have problems with it getting stuck on the grey screen with the apple put in the application disk that came with the computer and it should fix it

Awesome. Thanks for the input.

Does any one have a link to a step by step tutorial thread on how to safely back up a system before performing this OS X upgrade?

Time machine

Yes time machine is the simplest easiest way to do this. Its saved my butt a few times as well when i accidentally deleted my iphoto library and lost my itunes playdata
