I'm currently using an Acer 27" monitor and it seems to be having problems after my macbook goes to sleep. When I wake it from sleep, there's snow/static and sometimes it'll only be there for 2 seconds and return to normal or it'll stay there until I turn off the monitor and turn it back on.

I googled the issue and found that it's a common problem but have yet to find a solution. I used to have a 27" Samsung hooked up to it and it never did that. I believe it has to do with the HDMI to DVI cable because my Samsung was hooked up with an HDMI to HDMI cable. There's no other cable I'm able to use the monitor with other than a VGA but I think the problem might still be there even with the new cable.

Has anyone found a solution to prevent this from happening? Is it a software issue in the mac that might be fixed maybe when Yosemite comes out??
