so with 3g will this make youtube and other videos have better quality like if you were using wifi?
or it will just load faster and have same quality like EDGE?

thanks:apple:

^^ What are you talking about? Youtube videos on the iPhone look MUCH better when on Wi-Fi over EDGE, no matter how good the source is. On computers though, it depends on the source and not the speed.

I really hope that 3G means better quality for youtube because I will have even more of a reason to use the app.

yeah youtube on edge is not really good buts better than nothing after all its a first gen..

i would like to see a wifi like quality on 3G..but that will=less batt life..good thing they will have the EDGE/3G on/off switch..

do you guys/girls really care about quality vids?
what do you think about youtube on EDGE?

Youtube integration on the iPhone reads what your connection is then grabs either hi/lo quality.

Reference movie style i'd imagine, just like Apple's Quicktime can do. There's a fair bit on at the ADC on it. The server providing the video can check your speed / connection, and give you a quality accordingly. I'm not sure if you can force it to cache the better quality one (and on a desktop, you can see if there's the higher quality version available also).
