The battery in my macbook is not too impressive and I get about 3 hours off a full charge. The battery always reads about 4073mAh which is perfect. Well anyways I heard the battery design is different for late 2008MBA and newer MBAs. Is this true? Do I have any other options for batteries?

What you heard is true. The newer Pro models have a built in battery which won't fit in the replaceable battery models.
By the way, MBA= MacBook Air. I'm pretty sure you're referring to your MacBook Aluminum though.
