Do you plan on getting an iPhone 5 or 6 next year?
The lightning port is the biggest reason to not get the iPad 3. The speed is incredible and retina display is perfect but it's good to future proof yourself and stick to lightning devices from here on out. If you don't care about that, the iPad 3 is a great device.

I have a 5 now - and so does my son - my wife has a 4S and we have a bunch of 30 pin ipods and touches....
Hard to know which way to go....
..also I could get the 16GB iPad 3 for the same amount - truth be told, I am not using all 32GB - there is a lot of music on it I don't listen to - maybe get the 16GB 4...

Definitely worth it. I upgraded the wifey's and she loves it. The Retina Display alone is reason enough.
