Hi there,

I am a retro gamer on my platforms. I tend to collect old hard and software in order to play with these in my free time just for fun.
Now it seems I got to a point where digital software kicks me out of the game. I am not talking about steam for osx and the lack of reinstalling games from backups in offline-mode which also does not work, but that is not the point here. That's a topic for another time.

I took a Mac mini 2010 out of the shelve and replaced the hard drive with an SSD, installed Lion 10.7.5 and I wondered why I cannot logon the iTunes-store. So I went to the garden in order to download the latest iTunes version for 10.7.5 which is 12.2. But that can not be installed because of a certificate that expired somewhere back in 2019.

I copied the backups for the installed games that I bought at the mac-appstore and I can't play them either. I can not connect to the mac-appstore and without that connection the games won't start. It seems that I am stuck here.

I should have written either. Yes two different problems, both prevent me from either listening and downloading my music, or playing the games I already bought.

Ok I can copy the music over from another machine, but I am not sure about the arm of the music-files to my understanding in oder to play the music the machine has to be activated for playing (about 5 machines are possible). And yes the other problem is the games that are not starting because they require a logon in the macappstore once.

Two factor authentication might be the issue here. Lion does not know about 2FA. When attempting to login, do you receive a code on any of your other Apple devices? If so, add this code to the end of your Apple Account password in Lion. Ex. <password><code> e.g. mypass12345

No I can put my apple-id and password in the logon-window and nothing happens.
If I check "create" I can see the wheel moving endlessly.
