Me= many year android fan boy/ Long time MacBook owner
Had an iPhone back in 08 but switched to android & stayed for years because I just loved it!. I tried the iPhone 6+ and then again tried with the X, just couldn’t take iOS for more than a week. I found it lacked in so many ways.(not looking to fight, just stating how I felt)
So, I needed a new smart watch early in December and learned my parents bought me one(for Christmas) It's an Apple Watch 4. I didn't want them to see me not enjoying the awesome gift they gave & I went and bought the XSmax reluctantly!
Has now been 30 days and now I'm sold... so much, even went and bought the Apple TV & gave my Note 9 to my kid.
iOS has moved along, the widgets have stepped up and have about matched android, just presented differently. Things missing from android I found iOS offers in different ways, most I'm finding are better! Gmail works much better than even last year, so perhaps it helped me convert back to iOS. I may even try iCloud mail, seems to work better than a couple years ago. The one thing I wish iOS would do better is the volume control! Android has the ability to control many different volume levels. That said, I'm on 27/7 call and have to leave the ringer loud & It makes the alarm clock so rudely loud. All the apple products play so well with each other, I even dumped Spotify for Apple Music.
I'm liking the whole apple experience, I don't even care about the S10 rumors nor the bad rap Apple is seeing in the news. Now I want apple to prosper, not sure I could go back to android after rejoining the apple way:apple:

Both iOS and Android are fairly mature operating systems. The Watch is a killer add-on to iOS though, not much competition from Android though that’s probably as much Qualcomm’s fault - no point in developing features if the hardware won’t support them.

I’m also a long term android user who recently came back to the iphone for the XS Max (last iphone before that was the 4) and I’m loving it! It’s funny that there are so many comments around about the iphone being boring but actually having been on android for a long time it became boring too and I actually find iOS quite fun now its new again to me. It really has come a long way.

After owning the Max for 6 weeks I picked up an Apple watch 4. The two really complement each other and work so well together. It’s still early days back with apple for me but I haven’t looked properly at a single android news site since and I’m thinking of ipads and macbooks in the future!

Same here, long time Android person, I was anti Apple but I got so frustrated with Android and Samsung in particular. Every Samsung I had got laggy and buggy after a while. I finally made the switch and got an Xs recently since Apple has finally caught up with some of the technology like wireless and fast charging. iPhone does everything smoother and faster than Android. I don't care about fancy features if my phone can't snap a quick picture and do the basics right. I didn't think I would like it this much but I do. I got the airpods also and they work so well!

I don't use the alarm clock any more; I use the "bedtime" feature but only for the wake-up alarm. It ramps up the volume to a limit you set in the app itself.

Apple's phone philosophy has always been to lower the users' complexity but that also comes with a minimum "fiddle" ability

I completely acknowledge that if you want to muck around with the OS and do more "computer type" stuff, Android is better. I still find it annoying that apple doesn't allow proper use of the filesystem, meaning that an email with multiple type attachments is still a royal pain on the iPhone

However despite being a geek, I need the phone just to work, and perform essential communication and data functions, and iOS/Apple has also been low maintenance and just works. Together with the best AI keyboard prediction and consistently quality hardware - That for me is everything

I don't even care about the S10

The S10 will be a disappointment. Just that hole in the screen is a no-go. Plus, the design is horrendous because the bezels are not symmetrical.

Plus, it also has One UI which imo is the single biggest disappointment about Android OEM software. It's nowhere near the simplicity of iOS or OxygenOS/Pixel experience (I used an S9 for months).

Agreed. Touch wiz and now called one UI is simply repulsive to me. I’ve own the Samsung note, note 3, galaxy s4, and galaxy s7. Worst android experience ever. The only thing Samsung has going for them imo is their screens.
