i always see macbooks for sale with plenty of software:

cs
ilife
toast
parallels

etc etc.

can't one pirate these softwares and list them as part of the software package?

how would a buyer know that these apps are legitimate or pirated?
 
its just dumb people. Most of them dont have the discs. Similarly many people sell iOS devices claiming that they come with hundreds of apps not realizing that as soon as you register it with your appleID those apps are gone lol
 
Even if the software was purchased legally, they cannot resell it.

That's absolutely not true. As long as the software is removed from all your machines and you provide the original media and license, you can resell. (Unless it's OEM.)

That's probably true, unless in those insanely long EULA it states the serial/key isn't transferable.
