Sorry if this is trivial, im used to windows that after any major updates I run a cleaning software for the registry, temp files etc. Is there anything you guys do with you Macs after a big update like this? Update went smoothly enough, no issues so far.

if things are running well.... enjoy it. and if issues do pop up, come to the forum for help... (or torture apple support). ☺️

After an update I like to run the Geekbench 5 app. I keep a note inside my Mactracker app with a historical record of my Geekbench scores going way back. This gives me a pretty good idea that my system is still performing consistently over time.

The one time is wasn't was when I installed a new HDD on an iMac and the system throttled way down and the fans went crazy. It turns out that was a known issue (but unbeknownst to me) with putting in a different HDD into the iMac architecture.

I do intend to do that, I usually wait a bit after to let the system sort itself out
