I have read so many things the last days about today's event and if the rumors are true I have to say that I will be deeply disappointed by the following:
  • lack of Matte Display option for the Macbook Pro
  • the pricing structure seems unchanged
  • no Blu-Ray
  • no 17" model
  • no Firewire 400 on the Macbook
  • no CPU speed increases at all
  • the lowest priced Macbook model remains the white one...I can't believe that!

So, what do you think, are all these rumors true? Of course time will tell but it would be interesting to see what people think!

Wow and I thought I was going to be disappointed.

Yes, unfortunately I do believe that most, if not all, of these rumors are true. I think it's going to be a fairly disappointing day for Apple fans, and I think that their stock price is going to dip even more than is normal after such events.

Usually the late rumors are pretty much spot on. If these are correct then there will be a lot of pissed off people. But at least you will Aluminum in the Macbook. WOW.

I think this is exactly what we will see. I have waited for a good 3 months to wait for the new design, but I have to say no Matte screen means I will most likely buy a refurb.

That would be the dumbest thing ever.

*Yes i know dumbest isn't a word.

My bet is that the rumors we want to be true, will be false and vice versa.

Thankfully, I just upgraded from a PowerBook G4 to the latest MBP in February. If the leaked pictures are the new designs, at least I've got a while to learn to love them before I need to upgrade again.

What I really want is a Mac mini update with the rumored notebook hardware inside. I've waited for a couple months for an update, but if this event disappoints, I'm done waiting.

Apple would be saying FU to a hell of a lot of people and a hell of a lot of money if they didn't offer a Matte option.

Not me though, I love glossy.

Some but not all. I'm finding it hard not to believe the many photos that are now circulating. I'll only believe there's no matte option when Steve tells me, though. *hangs onto hope*

I'll also be a little disappointed if there's no CPU speed increase and the prices stay the same, as is looking to be the case.

My thoughts exactly.

In fact I wonder if that isn't Apple's plan: Fail to offer a matte version and push people into buying up the old stock of MBPs with NVidia GPU issues... Damn capitalism!
